A simple connection through Ngozi’s CV review post led me to the A program. I learned the importance of networking, which helped me with professionals and opened new opportunities, including my first job in Canada.
From updating my CV and LinkedIn to learning about coffee chats and how to reach out to professionals, I began applying every lesson. Soon, I was connecting with people I had never met before, including top professionals in Canada, and those conversations gave me both insights and opportunities.
Even while the program was still ongoing, I landed my very first job in Canada. That moment made me realize just how valuable the networking skills I had gained were. Today, I have a stronger professional network, more confidence, and clarity on how to keep building my career.

I came across a tag from a friend on Instagram about a career coaching program by MumsFirst, funded by the Ontario government. And because I never pass up a good opportunity, I signed up immediately—and honestly, it was exactly what I needed.
After becoming a mum, my career felt stalled. The rejections kept coming, and the job I truly wanted didn’t feel breastfeeding-friendly. Getting the ACP program acceptance email was a huge relief, and I recognized the program's potential from the first Slack message. Through nine virtual sessions with coach Kemi and two in-person events, I experienced remarkable growth. . The accountability, the structure, the sisterhood—it was the support I had been praying for.
This program demands commitment but provides essential resources, including personalized coaching that enhanced my confidence and skills., I walk away with not just a stronger CV, but also newfound confidence, clarity, and something even more precious—real friendships and a sisterhood that will last beyond the program.

When I joined the ACP Business Cohort I was searching for direction. Like many others, I had dreams and visions but didn’t know where to start. Coming in to Canada, it felt like so much information was being gatekept—people weren’t sharing their journeys, and it was discouraging. So, when a friend sent me MumsFirst’s Instagram post, I thought, this is different -a platform for mothers, not about parenting or marriage, but about us—our goals, our businesses, our futures. That was exactly what I needed.

The flexibility of the program and the support made it easier to stay committed as a mother balancing so many responsibilities. What made the biggest difference for me were the connections and practical tips. From the very first session, I was introduced to people in my line of interest, and that kind of access is rare. I was amazed—nobody ever offers that kind of help. And it wasn’t empty talk; it was real collaboration and guidance. I didn’t just receive theory or PowerPoint slides—I got actionable advice, real examples, and the encouragement to start and grow steadily.
MumsFirst gave me the tools, the confidence, and the network to take my business from an idea to something I can now begin putting into practice. I launched my very first event and for me that’s proof that with the right guidance and community, nothing is impossible.

Initially focused on promoting her Adire business. She joined the ACP with a clear goal: - "I want more mums to discover my Adire."
Experienced a shift during a one-on-one coaching session with Udeme which parked a new vision. She realized she didn’t have to choose between her business and creativity. With the right mindset and tools, she could pursue both.
Now she is selling beautiful Adire and is confidently engaging in content creation to build multiple streams of income.

I was working in a contract role when an opportunity came up in the office as the incumbent was promoted and the role needed to be filled. I was asked if I’m interested in the position because my performance has been amazing and they are aware of my accounting certificate from Nigerian, which is equivalent to a diploma in Canada.
Prior to arriving in Canada, I had taken the exam for the certification specifically to help boost my chances of PR. Prior to taking the coaching classes with Mumsfirst, I would have declined the offer due to my lack of hands on experience.
However I remembered all the coaching sessions and confidently said yes. Thankfully I still have knowledge from when I took the certification. I was offered the position and it’s a permanent, full time role with an increase in salary.
