Bolu's Story

After becoming a mum, Bolu's career felt like it had stalled. The rejections kept coming, and the role she truly wanted didn't feel child-care friendly , a reality many moms returning to work know all too well. She needed a way back in, but wasn't sure where to find it.
Then a friend tagged her in a post on Instagram ,a career coaching program by MumsFirst, funded by the Ontario government. For Bolu, this seemed a good opportunity, so she signed up immediately.
The acceptance email came as a huge relief. And from her very first message in the program's Slack channel, she could already sense the potential in what she'd just joined. With over nine virtual sessions and two in-person events, she experienced remarkable growth , not just in her career readiness, but in how she saw herself. The accountability, the structure, the sisterhood - it was the support she'd been praying for.
The program demanded real commitment, but it gave back just as much: personalized coaching that sharpened her skills and rebuilt her confidence from the ground up. Alongside her career growth, Bolu also pursued funding support for her business through the program , and secured a grant that gave her real momentum, a milestone she hadn't imagined possible when she first signed up.
Bolu walked away with more than she expected. She gained clarity, renewed confidence, funding for her business, and something even more precious — real friendships and a sisterhood that continues well beyond the program.
"This was the support I had been praying for — accountability, structure, and a sisterhood that will last beyond the program."
